Customer Retention

This study is being conducted to help a private music lessons studio understand its student retention. We are looking for indicators as to which students are most or least at risk of leaving, when students are most at risk of leaving, and what can be done to encourage students to stay. In the course of this project I have used data from the school to create a multitude of visualizations and new data, including a “Participation Score” that rates and scales each student’s engagement with the school based on a variety of continuous and categorical variables.

This is a professional study, and the GitHub page is private.

Predicting market movements using food price data

This group project studies correlation between US food prices and the movement of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The final project for my certificate in Data Analytics and Visualization from Columbia University, my main contributions were the design of a supervised Machine Learning model that uses food price data to predict DJIA movement and creation of comparison graphs (as seen to the left). The model achieved a 66% accuracy score.

Mapping Earthquakes

This academic project uses JavaScript, HTML, Mapbox, and GeoJSON files to compile global earthquake data from the USGS. I used these tools to create an interactive, 3-layer map that displays recent earthquakes and their magnitudes along with major fault lines (seen in red). This functional interactive map can be explored at:
